Swire Cold Storage

Home Bush Bay

  • LOCATION

    Homebush Bay, NSW

Swire contacted Lidoran in regard to their 27-meter high, cold storage premise in Homebush Bay, NSW.

The problem was the purlins - due to condensation buildup they had rusted and needed to be removed. Safety was paramount therefore guardrail was installed to the perimeter of the roof.

Whilst the scaffold stair was being built, the boys had internal access to the roof via the roof hatch, but the problem was they had to climb 27 meters of stairs in a building -minus 25 degrees cold. Jim suffered the most having the biggest ears and the biggest nose.

Our roofing contractors tackled the job in true Lidoran style - firstly removing the roof sheets and the rusted purlins. Next the structural steel was painted and new purlins were put in. Insulation was then added and finally the new roof sheets were installed.
A crane was used and it had a total of 4 setups - progress was made one bay at a time - bays being 8 meters x 16 meters. A swinging stage was used, as the perimeter also had to be clad.

Once again LIDORAN ROOFING has a happy satisfied client.
