Lidoran is by no means a boring place to work. Our projects vary & every site throws up new challenges & more excitement to add to my 30 years of roof adventures.

This project was no exception. Boeing Australia a very long-term tenant of Bankstown Airport decided it was time to go. This left the airport with a 12,000m2 empty building & in need of a new tenant. Built pre World War II to build De Havilland Mosquitos for the European Company, the building was well & truly in need of a make over.

Colin Carpenter of MDA contacted Lidoran and we were invited to tender on the demolition of all out buildings & full asbestos removal, then re-clad of roof, walls, glazing, concreting, vents, electrical & gardening. The metal re roof included box gutters. To say the Client & Consultants were impressed is a massive understatement.

Due to the proximity of working runways we were limited to the crane height so a chopper was called into land the roof sheeting. We had used choppers many times in the past but this job was the most exciting ever, action stations the likes most people will never experience in two life times.

Just another day at the office & home without a scratch & all body parts still attached.
